After over 20 years of managing sales and marketing teams within FTSE100 companies, Managing Partner Steve Plotkin chose to start up his own business using his knowledge and expertise to help entrepreneurs develop a systematised marketing strategy for their business.  Initially focussed on coaching Steve formed Cognition Coaching & Development and later in 2013 rebranded the business to Indigo Inbound.

The History of Indigo Inbound Marketing

  • 2009

    The idea is hatched

    Working as an independent consultant Steve worked with several businesses in the SME sector implementing CRM systems and developing salesforce and marketing joint strategy initiatives. During this time he met and worked closely with a business coach, Paul Avins, who encouraged Steve to form his business and become an entrepreneur.

  • 2010

    Cognition Coaching is formed

    The original business focussed on coaching business owners about marketing strategy and was called Cognition Coaching & Development.  Steve ran the business himself and the business was split between training business owners in a group setting and 1:1 coaching clients.

  • 2011

    Done for you services added

    With demand from coaching and training clients for a more ‘done for you’ help and support, full service marketing consultancy was added to the product range.  This offered bigger clients the chance to have a more hands off approach to their marketing needs allowing them to concentrate on running their business successfully.

  • 2012

    Hubspot partner status

    With more and more success using inbound marketing with clients, we focussed all our efforts on inbound and became a Hubspot partner and certified inbound marketing professionals.  We use Hubspot with our clients to manage their marketing systems, lead capture, follow up and reporting. As a Hubspot partner we are able to tailor the experience of clients using Hubspot to ensure they transition to using inbound techniques smoothly.

  • 2013

    Rebranding to Indigo Inbound

    To reflect the focus on inbound marketing and the full range of consultancy services that we now offered, it was decided to rebrand the business to Indigo Inbound Marketing.  This fresh new look and website allows us a platform to help existing and potential new clients learn more about our agency and how inbound marketing can help them generate more leads and convert them into customers.
